Message From the Director

The Directorate of Postgraduate Studies is one of the main directories which oversee the conduct and the administration of Postgraduate Studies Programmes including teaching, examinations awarding of Postgraduate Degrees and Diplomas, supervisory activities and examining of graduate students. The Office oversees the co-ordination of the academic management, which includes administrative aspects required for development and approval of new qualifications and new programmes, admission process for Master’s, Doctorate courses, and short-term trainings, preparation and processing of applications for the official calls of admissions, registration, monitoring the progress and examinations.

The Directorate of Postgraduate Studies is also responsible for formulating and carrying out regular review of the policy framework and regulations for postgraduate studies as well as enforcing them after being approved by the University Senate.

It also ensures the competence of academic staff who participate in the teaching and supervision of postgraduate students’ research. This including the organization of capacity building programs aimed at improving the teaching and supervisory processes for quality output.

The Postgraduate Studies Directorate also has a duty of seeking and receiving recommendations from the University’s Faculties, Departments, and Higher Degree Academic Committee, and advice the Senate on matters related to postgraduate programs.
